#1: You Aren't Making Use of Content Clusters

Over time, the content cluster model has grown in popularity. Aja Frost, Hubspot's Head of Content, led a session for DigitalMarketer Lab members on the approach, demonstrating how content clusters helped Hubspot rank for more keywords.

Your SEO approach may fall flat if you don't use content clusters. These clusters group together items based on a common theme. This article, for example, is part of a content cluster on the subject of SEO. We have a pillar post that is accompanied by 1,000-1,500 word pieces that all link back to the pillar post.

The idea is for these posts to direct traffic to our pillar post, which will subsequently have a large number of CTAs for our offer. This method allows you to rank for more keywords (due to the fact that you have more material for each keyword) while also demonstrating to search engines that your visitors enjoy your content. After you've finished reading this article, go to our pillar post and read it all the way through... The search engines have noticed that you enjoy our content.

This helps us rank for these keywords and improves the visibility of our publications.

Write pillar posts that are supported by "smaller" articles on the same subject that all link to the pillar post. Your keyword ranking should improve, and your content should begin to appear on Page 1 (fingers crossed!).

#2: You Aren't Putting Money Into Your Content

When it comes to content, people used to get away with a lot. They might write mediocre content and rise to the top of Page 1. But it's becoming more difficult. And we enjoy it! Bad material should not be ranked since it does not provide a positive experience for search engine users. The sole purpose of search engines is to locate the answer to someone's enquiry. Bad content does not provide a response to the query, leaving the reader wanting more.

High bounce rates occur as a result, and search engines perceive your material "unworthy" of being on Page 1.

In the first quarter of 2021, 5 million WordPress blogs were published *every day*. It's time to reconsider if you assume you can get away with poor content and then wonder why your SEO strategy is failing.

What you put into your SEO strategy is what you'll receive.

Invest in your content to ensure that people continue to read it. When they keep reading, it signals the search engines that other people (who used the same search term) would also be interested in reading this.

#3: You're Making Use of a Broad CTA

We can help if you're generating traffic but not getting conversions from your SEO approach. The good news is that you're ranking really well for your keywords. You've gone a long way, and the rest is (semi) straightforward.

Let's have a look at your call-to-action:

Is it overly broad vs. tailored to the subject that brought them here?

Is it attempting to persuade people to purchase a product that has nothing to do with the material they're reading?

Have you experimented with various offers?

Start putting your CTAs to the test to see what's wrong with them. To make sure you're focused on the reader (not your own benefit from the conversion), utilise Harry Dry's call-to-values method instead of call-to-actions:

#4: You Won't See the Results for a While Kids and SEO techniques are both terrific patience tests. When it comes to children, we recommend taking deep breathes. We recommend weekly meetings and deep breaths when it comes to SEO. While your SEO approach may appear to be costly when it isn't yielding results, keep in mind that this is a long-term plan.

This isn't a paid advertising plan that can be activated and optimised in a matter of days. SEO is a time-consuming process. Search engines need to figure out what question your material solves, and the easiest way to achieve that is to have a lot of people read it (see below).

Wait a few weeks if you don't notice results after establishing your SEO campaign. Instead of pulling the parachute, put your money into a tried-and-true marketing channel. If you've been trying to get your SEO off the ground, now is not the time to give up.

Allow your SEO plan to run for at least a few months to ensure that it has enough time to produce results.

If it still doesn't work after that, check over these 5 reasons your plan isn't working to see if there's anything else wrong.

#5: You're not utilising all of your available platforms to gain traction.

When you initially run sponsored advertising, the platform (for example, Facebook) will recommend that you offer them a trial period. They'll require roughly $50 for the next seven days so their algorithm can figure out who your target audience is. They need to figure out who:

Participates in your posts

Visits to your personal page

Looks around your webpage

This informs the platform as to who is most suited to see this sponsored ad. In a similar vein, SEO can be considered. You're assisting the algorithm in determining who is the greatest fit for your search results if you can bring traffic to your content on your own.

Not only that, but you're also helping your articles rank higher in search results since search engines notice how popular your material is.

Promote your material to your audience (email list, social media, whatever!) if you have one.

This will only benefit your SEO campaign (and can be done for free most of the time).
